Established in May 1960, Vallakadavu Church stands as a beacon of faith and unity in the region. Rooted in the dedication and spiritual leadership of Rev. Fr. Parel B. Thomas, Rev. Fr. Vayalunkal B. Alexander, and Assistant Vicar Rev. Fr. Thottupurath B. Joseph, the church has grown from humble beginnings into a vibrant and nurturing spiritual community.
Before the formation of the church, the faithful in the area were part of the congregations at Kattappana and Kanchiyar churches. With the support of visionary leaders and generous well-wishers, chapels were first established in Melekanchiyar and Kadamakuzhy. Later, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Nellary B. Mathew and with land donated by Shri Lukose Maniyangattu, a unified church was built at the current location. The church was blessed by Mar Mathew Kavukattu, with Rev. Fr. Mathew serving as the first vicar.
